AISI 321 stainless steel plate is a stable stainless steel whose main advantage is its excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion after exposure to chromium carbide precipitation temperatures in the range of 800°F to 1500°F (427°C to 816°C). AISI 321 stainless steel plate is stabilized by the addition of titanium to form chromium carbide. AISI 321 stainless steel plate is primarily used in the manufacture of wear resistant acid vessels and wear resistant equipment, oil waste gas combustion equipment, boiler pressure vessels, and chemical transport vehicles.
