From several major electric furnace steel producing countries, Japan's crude steel production was 7.3 million tons, down 7.4 percent year-on-year; the U.S. crude steel production was 7 million tons, down 7.1 percent year-on-year; South Korea's estimated crude steel production was 6.1 million tons, down 0.4 percent year-on-year; Turkey's crude steel production was 2.8 million tons, down 21.0 percent year-on-year; Iran's crude steel production was 2.1 million tons, up 64.7 percent year-on-year.
